Classification of EEG Signals for Discrimination of Two Imagined Words
In this study, a Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) in Silent-Talk application was implemented. The goal was an electroencephalograph (EEG) classifier for three different classes including two imagined words (Man and Red) and the silence. During the experiment, subjects were requested to silently repeat one of the two words or do nothing in a pre-selected random order. EEG signals were recorded by ...
متن کاملMulticomponent Multidimensional Signals
In this brief paper, we extend the notion of multicomponent signal into multiple dimensions. A definition for multidimensional instantaneous bandwidth is presented and used to develop criteria for determining the multicomponent nature of a signal. We demonstrate application of the criteria by testing the validity of a multicomponent interpretation for a complicated nonstationary texture image.
متن کاملNetwork Neutrality, Broadband Discrimination
Communications regulators over the next decade will spend increasing time on conflicts between the interests of broadband providers and the public’s interest in competitive innovation environment on the internet. As the policy questions this conflict raises are basic to communications policy, they are likely to appear in many different forms. So far, the first major appearance has come in the “...
متن کاملColor Discrimination with Broadband Photoreceptors
BACKGROUND Color vision is commonly assumed to rely on photoreceptors tuned to narrow spectral ranges. In the ommatidium of Drosophila, the four types of so-called inner photoreceptors express different narrow-band opsins. In contrast, the outer photoreceptors have a broadband spectral sensitivity and were thought to exclusively mediate achromatic vision. RESULTS Using computational models an...
متن کاملTime-frequency representation of multicomponent chirp signals
This work deals with the analysis of chirp signals by means of time-frequency representation. We propose a chirp adapted time-frequency representation (CA) in which the interferences are significantly reduced. This method is applied to the analysis of acoustic echoes of a sphere target. Comparison of the results to other types of time-frequency distribution of the Cohen’s class shows that the i...
